Project category: Invasive Weed Solutions

Client / contractor: Gleeson Homes

Project overview

Oliver Brown Ltd supported Japanese Knotweed detection work using a specialist canine detection dog, helping locate rhizomes that may not be visible to the naked eye.

What the work involved

The survey used a trained detection dog to search for Japanese Knotweed rhizomes across the working area, supporting a more detailed understanding of the contamination risk on site.

Why it mattered

Where Japanese Knotweed is suspected or previous treatment has taken place, detection work can provide useful evidence before excavation, development or remediation decisions are made. It gives clients a clearer view of what may be present below the surface.
