Service category: Commercial Invasive Weed Solutions

Client: GVA

Location: M58

Project value: £5,566

Reported saving: Saving to the network through reduced disruption and cost

Oliver Brown Ltd supported a cable installation project alongside the M58 where Japanese Knotweed was present, using biosecurity controls and root barrier measures to avoid the need for full excavation.

The works allowed the cable route to be installed safely while reducing the risk of spreading Japanese Knotweed material across the site or onto other areas. By using specialist biosecurity procedures and root barrier protection, the team helped keep the project moving without the disruption and cost that would have come with total excavation.

This approach provided a practical, compliant solution for a live infrastructure setting, helping reduce programme disruption and wider network impact.
